West Bengal is celebrating Dol today which also coincides with Trinamool leader Anubrata Mondal's transfer to Delhi from Asansol jail. Reacting to this, Firhad Hakim, Minister and Mayor of Kolkata expressed his confidence in the judicial system of the country and said that Anubrata Mondal would receive proper justice through the law and justice system. He praised the judges' expertise in public law and their ability to administer justice correctly.

Furthermore, Firhad Hakim remarked that in India, the last say does not rest with the agency or central police raj, but with ordinary people. He referred to a past instance where opposition leaders were detained in jail, and the central government employed suppression tactics.

Eventually, the government was removed from power by the people's vote, and Firhad emphasized that continuing repression cannot keep a government in power for long. Without mentioning Indira Gandhi's name, he criticized the BJP-led government at the center by recalling the Indira era.

The court has cleared the ED's way to transfer Anubrata in connection with the cattle smuggling probe. Although the Trinamool leader appealed in Calcutta High Court against it, the plea was turned down and the bench slapped a fine on Anubrata as well.
